Klaus Nomi - Klaus Nomi (1981)

Klaus Sperber (1944-1983). Stage name: Klaus Nomi. German countertenor. Unlike other "classical stage" people, Nomi was an unusual stage personality. Unorthodox stage performances and costumes have brought him his fame. In other words, his costumes, make-up and hairstyle was like a distinctive feature of him. He is one of the first celebrities who died because of AIDS.

He had a different approach to classical music: synthesizer and 80's style electronic sounds were present in his work, even in his covers of opera pieces. He is known with his covers of Henry Purcell's "Cold Song" and "Dido's Lament".
